Katie Frederick

(Ages 6-8 & 9-12) Acting  |  (Ages 6-8 & 9-12) Glee  |  (Ages 6-8 & 9-12) Musical Theater

Katie Frederick is an Equity Membership Candidate musical theater actress and singer, performing on stages across the valley. A graduate of Arizona State University, she has a degree in Music Performance in Musical Theater. She closed an extended run of Les Miserables with Arizona’s largest Equity-house professional theater, the Phoenix Theater where she has also performed.

Past credits include: Spring Awakening (Thea), Next to Normal (Natalie), and Hairspray (Penny Pingleton; ariZoni Winner) at Mesa Encore Theatre, Bat Boy (Shelley), and more! Katie was a part of ASU’s improv, sketch, and standup comedy teams. 

Jamie Macpherson

(Ages 4-5 & 6-8 & 9-12) Musical Theater

Jamie is a Teaching Artist from the Twin Cities, MN.  After receiving her degree in directing at Macalester College (MN), she has spent the last six years teaching theater to children ages 4-18 years old in a variety of classes, including: acting, dance, stage combat, improv, and Shakespeare.

She has worked as a director, choreographer, and stage manager on a many shows, most notably “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Spring Awakening.”  She is currently pursuing her MFA in Theatre for Youth at Arizona State University.

Sean McBride

(Ages 9-12) Comedy Improv

Sean Ryan McBride is a recent graduate of ASU’s Herberger School of Film, Dance, and Theatre where he focused on acting. At ASU he was part of the second longest running collegiate sketch comedy troupe Farce Side as a writer and performer. He has performed at the three largest improv houses in the Phoenix area; Jester’z Improv, National Comedy Theater, as well as The Torch Theatre where he is currently taking more improv classes! He is a company member at Teatro Bravo in their actor created show The Carpa Plays. This is his first time teaching here at Voices Studio and is very excited for the opportunity. 

Lizzie Shafer

(Ages 18+) Group Voice

Elizabeth holds a BA in Music from University of Southern California, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and she received the Outstanding Bachelor of Arts award. Accepted into the vocal arts major, Elizabeth studied opera; performing in operas and even a microtonal choir. Her songs have been featured on a number of independent artists’ records as well as her own. She participated in choral ensembles, musical theatre, jazz and show choir groups around the valley, and was also a cellist before switching to guitar. She placed first chair in the Arizona regionals twice in a row and traveled across Europe with the Arizona Ambassadors of Music before she graduated high school.

Max Foster

(Ages 3-5) Pianotoons

Max Foster is an accomplished instrumentalist, vocalist, beat-boxer, and arranger. He first began playing music when he joined his elementary school band to play trumpet. Since then, he has studied and performed a wide range of music, including classical music, rock and pop, jazz, musical theater, and choral music. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Northern Arizona University, where he directed the school’s coed a cappella group and sang with the renowned Shrine of the Ages Choir in New York City, Bulgaria, and Istanbul.
