Cassidy was born into a rockin’ family where Led Zeppelin and Joni Mitchell were constantly blaring throughout the house. These rockers were her early inspirations as she grew into the musician she is today. Cassidy first started hitting the stage in seventh grade where she starred in musicals, such as, Anything Goes, Hairspray, and Wicked. Throughout junior high and high school she rocked the alto section in the mixed choir and jazz choir. Later on, Cassidy picked up her older sisters Ibanez acoustic guitar and started teaching herself the ways of rock, blues, and jazz! After getting accepted into the singer/songwriter program at Berklee College of Music and not having the funds to attend, Cassidy decided to go on her own musical journey in her hometown of Mesa, Arizona. She started an all-girls blues/rock/jazz band, called Sister Lip.
She has had the privilege of touring across the United States and Canada, played festivals, such as, Apache Lake Music Festival and McDowell Mountain Music Festival, has performed at the Musical Instrument Museum twice, and has recorded a six song debut EP at STEM Studio entitled, “Thanks for the Mondays.” Sister Lip was crowned the “Hardest Working Band” from YabYum Music and Arts in 2014. While Cassidy is still writing and performing with Sister Lip, she sings with Mesa Community College’s Jazz Combo, plays guitar and sings harmonies for a local indie band, Field Tripp, rocks out in the funk/jam band, Jay Allan and The Uncommon Good and even works on her own solo project as well. To say the least, Cassidy is super stoked to be apart of the VOICES community as a Vocal Instructor and looks forward to teaching!
